Notes:
Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies of fracture surfaces of poly(vinyl chloride) - copper composites at various metal loadings and different processing conditions reveal characteristic features. In general, metallic fillers introduce brittleness, while plasticizers increase the ductility of the composites. Results of the fracture studies have been correlated with the properties of the composites reported earlier.
