Notes:
Liquid ion exchangers have certain advantages over conventional solid ion exchange resins. For example, they make possible the removal of ionic species from solutions of relatively high concentration. Because of favorable distribution factors, the number of stages needed for a practical degree of extraction is usually low. Typical liquid ion exchangers are amines or alkyl phosphoric acids in the molecular weight range 250-500.
