Direct Conversion of Iodothiophenes into Thienylboranes2-Iodothiophenes react with iodoboranes to form mono-, di-, and trithienylboranes and elemental iodine. Analogous redox reactions with 2,5-diiodothiophenes lead to 2,5-diboryl-thiophenes or polymeric thienylboranes. 1H n. m. r. spectroscopic results indicate an electronic interaction between the thiophene ring and the boron atom, depending on the Lewis-acidity of the boryl group.

2-Jod-thiophene reagieren mit Jodboranen unter Jodbildung zu Mono-, Di - und Trithienyl-boranen. Analoge Redox - Reaktionen mit 2.5 - Dijod - thiophen führen zu 2.5 - Diboryl-thiophenen bzw. polymeren Thienylboranen. 1H - NMR - spektroskopische Befunde lassen eine elektronische Wechselwirkung zwischen Thiophenring und Boratom in Abhängigkeit von der Lewis - Acidität der Borylgruppe erkennen.
