    Description / Table of Contents: Naturally Occurring Terpene Derivatives, XXXIX. On the Constituents of the Genus EuryopsFrom different members of the South African genus Euryops 35 new furanoeremophilanes have been isolated. By means of spectroscopic and chemical methods the formulas 1-6, 14-16, 18-20, 27, 28, 31-33, 36-40, 42, 43, 45, 47, and 49-57, are proposed. Furtheron four eremophilane derivatives have been isolated, their structures and configurations 58, 59, 65, and 70 have been elucidated. 58 and 65 can be transformed to furanoeremophilanes by chromic acid-oxidation. The mechanism probably corresponds to that of the biogenesis. The biogenetical relationships and the chemotaxonomic importance of these sesquiterpenes are discussed.
    Notes: Aus verschiedenen Vertretern der südafrikanischen Gattung Euryops werden 35 neue Furanoeremophilane isoliert, für die spektroskopische und chemische Methoden die Konstitutionsformeln 1-6, 14-16, 18-20, 27, 28, 31-33, 36-40, 42, 43, 45, 47, und 49-57 abzuleiten gestatten. Außerdem werden vier Eremophilan-Derivate isoliert, bei denen die Konfigurationsermittlung zu den Formeln 58, 59, 65, und 70 führt. 58 und 65 lassen sich durch Chromsäureoxidation in Furanoeremophilane überführen. Der Mechanismus dürfte dem der Biogenese entsprechen. Die biogenetischen Beziehungen und die chemotaxonomische Bedeutung dieser Sesquiterpene werden diskutiert.
