The Crystal and Molecular structure of C6H6RuC8H12 - (Benzene) 1, 5-cyclooctadiene)ruthenium(0)The crystal structure of the title compound 1 has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The Complex crystallizes in the space group p21/n, a = 648 ± 0.1 pm, b = 1188.3 ± 0.2 pm, c = 1486.1 ± 0.2 pm, β = 91.43 ± 0.02°, Z = 4 (R = 0.034). In the molecule the diolefin 1.5-cyclooctadiene functions as a four electron ligand, that is the ligand is π-bonded to the central ruthenium atom with its two double bonds. The coordination of the ruthenium 1/s completed by the six electron ligand benzene.

Mittels Röntgenanalyse wurde die Struktur der Titelverbindung 1 bestimmt. Der Komplex kristallisiert in der Raumgruppe p21/n, a = 648 ± 0.1 pm, b = 1188.3 ± 0.2 pm, c = 1486.1 ± 0.2 pm, β = 91.43 ± 0.02°, Z = 4 (R = 0.034). Im Komplexmolekül fungiert das Diolefin 1,5-Cyclooctadien als Vierelektronenligand, d. h. der Ligand ist über seine beiden Doppelbindungen an das zentrale Rutheniumatom π-gebunden. Der Sechselektronenligand Benzol vervollständigt die Koordination des Rutheniums.
