    Description / Table of Contents: Carboxonium Compounds in Carbohydrate Chemistry, XXVII1) Can trans-Linked 1,3-Dioxolan-2-ylium Ions Be Made?trans-Linked 1,3-dioxolan-2-ylium ion 8 is formed by reacting di-O-acetyl- and mono-O-acetyl-trans-decalin-2α,3β-diol (4) and (7) with trifluoromethanesulfonic acid (TFMS). Formation of trans-linked ido-ions 11 and/or 12 can be shown to result from reaction of TFMS with 2,3,4-tri-O-acetyl-1,6-anhydro-β-D-idopyranose (10). In 10, also boat conformation 14 shows neighboring group reaction with formation of isomeric gulo-, altro- and talo- ions 16, 17, and 18.
    Notes: Di-O-acetyl- und Mono-O-acetyl-trans-decalin-2α,3β-diol (4) und (7) reagieren mit Trifluormethansulfonsäure (TFMS) zum trans-verknüpften 1,3-Dioxolan-2-ylium-Ion 8. Bei Einwirkung von TFMS auf 2,3,4-Tri-O-acetyl-1,6-anhydro-β-D-idopyranose (10) ist die Bildung trans-verknüpfter ido-Ionen 11 und/oder 12 nachweisbar. Von 10 reagiert auch die Bootkonformation 14 unter Nachbargruppenreaktionen zu den isomeren gulo- 16, altro- 17 und talo- Ionen 18.
