    Description / Table of Contents: Coordination Compounds of Magnesium with the Trifluorohydroxoborate Group and Neutral Bases as LigandsThe compound Mg(BF3OH)2(THF)4 (1a) can be prepared from BF3 THF and a Grignard reagent RMgBr with a bulky group R. It crystallizes in the space group Pbna with a trans-octahedral molecular geometry. Derivatives of the type Mg(BF3OH)2L3, Mg(BF3OH)2L2, Mg(BF3OH)2L, or Mg(BF3OH)(OH)L, respectively, are formed either by thermal degradation (L = THF) or by a combination of thermal degradation and substitution of THF (L = NMe3, NEt3, Py). The species Mg(BF3OH)(OH)(THF) (1e) reveals a magnetically anisotropic behaviour by its NMR spectra.
    Notes: Aus BF3 · THF und einer Grignard-Verbindung RMgBr mit sperrigem Rest R erhält man die Verbindung Mg(BF3OH)2(THF)4 (1a), die in der Raumgruppe Pbna mit trans-oktaedrischer Molekülgeometrie kristallisiert. Zu Derivaten dieser Verbindung vom Typ Mg(BF3OH)2L3, Mg(BF3OH)2L2, Mg(BF3OH)2L oder Mg(BF3OH)(OH)L gelangt man durch Abbau (L = THF) bzw. durch eine Kombination von Abbau und Neutralligand-Substitution (L = NMe3, NEt3, Py). Die NMR-Spektren von Mg(BF3 OH)(OH)(THF) (1e) weisen aufein magnetisch anisotropes Verhalten dieser Substanz hin.
