Ligand Structure and Complexation, XIII: 2,2′-Bipyridine as a Building Block for New Aza Crown Ethers and CryptandsSynthesis and properties of novel aza crown ethers and cryptands with 2,2′-bipyridine as characteristic structural unit in the cycle are described (3-6, 12, 13). The acid amide cryptand 12 is an especially strong complex ligand for binding alkali metal cations (crystalline complexes with LiClO4, NaClO4). The complexation is also observed by spectroscopic methods (NMR, MS).

Synthese und Eigenschaften neuer Aza-Kronenether und Cryptanden mit 2,2′-Bipyridin als charakteristischem Strukturelement im Cyclus werden beschrieben (3-6, 12, 13). Der Säureamid-Cryptand 12 ist ein besonders starker Komplexligand für Alkalimetall-Kationen (kristalline Komplexe mit LiClO4, NaClO4). Die Komplexierung wird auch mit spektroskopischen Methoden (NMR, MS) nachgewiesen.
