Notes: On the Synthesis of an Aryl Pyrocarbonate by the Thoma and Rinke ProcedureThe synthesis of Thoma and Rinke, which is known to give good yields of dialkyl pyrocarbonates, yields the aryl pyrocarbonate 3b only in mixtures with starting material and decomposition products; 3b is stabilized with dimethyl sulfate and for the first time isolated in pure state.
