Functional D-Lyxuronic Acid Derivatives from D-Mannose1)1-O-Benzoyl- and lα-chloro-1-deoxy-D-lyxofuranuronic esters 5 and 9, respectively, are synthesized in a few steps from D-mannose in good overall yields. The α-halogenose 9 is highly selectively transformed with methanol into the α- and ß-methyl glycoside 8 and 11, respectively. The anomeric configuration is determined from the 1H NMR spectra.

Aus D-Mannose werden in wenigen Stufen und in guter Gesamtausbeute die 1-O-Benzoyl- und die 1α-Chlor-1-desoxy-D-lyxofuranuronsäureester 5 bzw. 9 hergestellt. Die α-Halogenose 9 wird mit Methanol hochselektiv sowohl in das α- als auch in das ß-Methylglycosid 8 bzw. 11 übergeführt. Die Konfiguration am anomeren Zentrum wird 1H-NMR-spektroskopisch gesichert.
