Organic Syntheses via Transition Metal Complexes, 16. A Novel Route to δ-Carbolines via Template Induced Multiple Cyclisation of Alkenyl-, Dienyl-, or Thienylcarbene Complexes with Aryl IsocyanidesWe report on a surprisingly facile synthesis of δ-carbolinones 5 via the condensation of alkenyl- or dienylcarbene complexes 1 with phenyl isocyanide. Ketenimine complexes of which the ligand is coordinated through the lone pair on nitrogen are intermediates of this reaction. We also obtained a thieno-δ-carboline 9 from the corresponding thienylcarbene complex 7 and determined its structure by spectroscopic means and an X-ray analysis.

δ-Carbolinone 5 können verblüffend einfach durch Kondensation von Alkenyl- bzw. Dienylcarben-Komplexen 1 mit Phenylisocyanid hergestellt werden. Als Zwischenstufen treten Ketenimin-Komplexe auf, von denen eine Kristallstrukturanalyse zeigt, daß der Ligand über das freie Elektronenpaar des Stickstoffs koordiniert ist. Aus einem Thienylcarben-Komplex 7 wurde ein Thieno-δ-carbolin 9 erhalten und spektroskopisch sowie kristallographisch untersucht.
