The Development and Importance of Inflating Agents in the Production of Expanded Plastics and RubberThe development of the production of expanded and cellular rubbers is described with particular reference to the inorganic and organic inflating agents, insofar as these are familiar commercial products. The possible methods of producing expanded plastics are explained on the basis of fundamental processes, and the use of organic inflating agents in the plastics field is described.

Die Entwicklung der Schwamm- und Zellkautschuk-Erzeugung wird unter besonderer Berücksichtigung anorganischer und organischer Treibmittel, soweit es sich um bekannte Handelsprodukte handelt, geschildert. Die Möglichkeiten zur Erzeugung von Kunststoff-Schäumen werden an grundlegenden Verfahren erläutert und die Verwendung organischer Treibmittel auf dem Kunststoff-Sektor wird beschrieben.
