    Description / Table of Contents: 5-pyrazolones, the couplable methylene group of which is monosubstituted by alkyl or aryl, couple with diazonium salts to form azo compounds, which are split in an alkaline medium to form bishydrazones. Bishydrazones react with the oxidized couplable form of colour developers, e. g. of the type N, N-diethyl-p-phenylendiamine, to form monohydrazones, while one hydrazine residue is split off. The probable reaction mechanism is discussed. This reaction offers, together with the oxidizability of osazones to bisazoethylenes, the possibility of the direct formation of positive colour pictures by means of photography.
    Notes: 5-Pyrazolone, deren Methylengruppe durch Alkyl oder Aryl monosubstituiert ist, kuppeln mit Diazoniumsalzen zu Azokörpern. In alkalischem Medium spalten diese unter Bildung von Bishydrazonen auf. Bishydrazone reagieren mit der oxydierten kupplungsfähigen Form von Farbentwicklern z. B. des Typs N.N-Diäthyl-p-phenylendiamin unter Abspaltung eines Hydrazinrestes zu Monohydrazonen. Der wahrscheinliche Reaktionsmechanismus wird diskutiert. Diese Reaktion bietet zusammen mit der bereits bekannten Oxydierbarkeit von Osazonen zu Bisazoäthylenen die Möglichkeit zur Herstellung von direkt positiven Farbstoffbildern auf photographischem Wege.
