    Notes: 1. l-Alanin wird in der Niere der Ratte, des Meerschweinchens und des Schweines zu Brenztraubensäure oxydativ desaminiert. Pro Mol gebildetes Ammoniak kann unter geeigneten Bedingungen annähernd 1 Mol gebildete Brenztraubensäure festgestellt werden. Die Brenztraubensäure wurde kolorimetrisch nach der Methode von Straub und präparativ als 2, 4-Dinitro-phenylbydrazon nachgewiesen.
