1The inhibiting action at 0° and 37° C of a number of Catalase H-Donors on the purified liver enzyme has been compared using FEINSTEIN's perborate-method. Furthermore the effect of enzyme preincubation with inhibitor has been investigated.2According to the dependency of the I50-values on temperature, the inhibitors can be divided in three groups; with the exception of 3-Amino-l,2,4-triazole, they all inhibit the more the lower the temperature. This influence is pronounced in azide and formate; it is slight however in 2,4-Dichlorphenol and Hydroxylamine.3Under certain conditions formate, acting as a stabilisor of complex I, does not inhibit but causes an apparent increase in catalatic activity.
