Notes:
The vinylation of benzene sulfonic acid with acetylene under pressure in the presence of mercury oxyde according to SAUER & WILSON can be done without application of pressure. Contrary to the data in the literature, benzene can be used as diluent. The hitherto unknown vinylester of naphthalene-2-sulfonic acid has been prepared by this method.
