Notes:
Pure Ge is obtained in good yield by electrolysis of GeO2 solutions in appropriate mixtures of fluorides wich melt at a temperature to 900°C. The suggested mechanism of the electrolysis consists in the dissociation of GeO2 in Ge4+ and O2- and the direct discharge of these ions at the electrodes.
