Notes: The mass spectra of the four monohaloacetylenes X-C≡C-H with X = F, Cl, Br, I and the six dihaloacetylenes X-C≡C-Y with X, Y = Cl, Br, I have been recorded. The dissociation energies of the carbon-carbon triple bonds of these compounds have been determined from the appearance potentials of the CH+ and CX+ ions. The appearance potentials of the singly- and doubly-charged molecular ions are also reported.
