Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Colored complexes of iron (III) are formed in solution with salicylhydroxamic acid. Their compositions were studied by JOB's method of continued variation as well as the Slope-ratio method introduced by HARVEY and MANNING. The violet-colored complex contained iron and the reagent in the proportion of 1:1, while in the wine-red compound, they are present in the ratio of 1:2.
