The preparation of pure solutions of sodium aurate by interaction between auric acid and sodium hydroxide is described. By addition of metal perchlorates to these solutions many salts of auric acid have been prepared. The thermal decompositions of aurates indicate that these compounds are tetrahydroxoaurates(III).

Bei der Umsetzung von Goldsäure mit einem Unterschuß von Natronlauge gelangt man zu alkalihydroxydfreien Natriumauratlösungen. Durch doppelte Salzumsetzung derartiger Lösungen mit Metallperchloratlösungen sind auf einfachem Wege viele Salze der Goldsäure präparativ darstellbar. Die Eigenschaften der Aurate werden beschrieben. Durch Untersuchung des thermischen Abbaues der Aurate wird gezeigt, daß die Verbindungen als Tetrahydroxoaurate - Me (I) [Au(OH)4] - zu formulieren sind.
