[SbCl4] [SbF6] reacts with hot AsF3 forming [AsCl4] [SbF6] and SbF3.In liquid SO2, the polar-(non-polar) equilibrium [SbCl4] [SbF6]⇄2 SbCl2F3 appears. By addition of NaF, the non-polar form is captured and Na [SbCl2F4] formed.In a Cl—F-exchange reaction, SbF5 solved in liquid SO2 reacts with NaCl yielding Na [SbCl2F4] and the difficulty soluble Na [SbF6].[AsCl4] [AsF6] and AgF react in AsF3 forming AsF5 (equation see „Inhaltsübersicht“).

[SbCl4] [SbF6] reagiert mit AsF3 in der Wärme unter Bildung von [AsCl4] [SbF6] und SbF3. In flüssigem SO2 löst sich [SbCl4] [SbF6] ohne Zersetzung. Es stellt sich das Gleichgewicht \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$$ [{\rm SbCl}_4 ][{\rm SbF}_4 ] \mathbin{\lower.3ex\hbox{$\buildrel\textstyle\rightarrow\over {\smash{\leftarrow}\vphantom{_{\vbox to.5ex{\vss}}}}$}} 2\ {\rm SbCl}_2 {\rm F}_3 $$\end{document} ein. Bei Zugabe von Natriumfluorid zur Lösung wird die homöopolare Form unter Bildung von Na[SbCl2F4] abgefangen. SbF5 ist wegen seines starken Komplexbildungsvermögens nicht vorteilhaft aus Antimon(V)-chlorofluoriden und salzartigen Fluoriden durch Chlor-Fluor-Austausch darstellbar. In SO2 reagiert SbF5 mit NaCl zu Na[SbCl2F4] und Na[SbF6]. Natriumhexafluoroantimonat ist in SO2 schwer löslich und trennt sich so von Dichlorotetrafluoroantimonat ab. Die zu [SbCl4] [SbF6] analoge Arsenverbindung läßt sich in AsF3 mit AgF nach der Gleichung \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$$ [{\rm AsCl}_4 ][{\rm AsF}_6 ] + 4\ {\rm AgF} \to 2\ {\rm AsF}_5 + 4\ {\rm AgCl} $$\end{document} in AsF5 überführen.
