The sulfuric-acid isomer peroxosulfurous acid, H2SIVO4, and its derivatives are rearranged to the much more stable sulfuric acid after their intermediate formation in the course of different reactions. Peroxoselenous acid, H2SeIVO4, on the other hand, may be prepared from SeO2 or H2SeO3 and H2O2.

Die zur Schwefelsäure isomere Peroxoschweflige Säure H2SIVO4, und ihre Derivate lagern sich nach ihrer Bildung bei verschiedenen Umsetzungen so rasch in die erheblich stabilere Schwefelsäure um, daß sie nicht isoliert werden können. Demgegenüber kann die peroxoselenige Säure H2SeIVO4, wenn auch noch nicht in reiner Form, aus SeO2 bzw. H2SeO3, und H2O2, dargestellt werden.
