    Description / Table of Contents: Purest BJ3 is decomposed on tantalum wires at about 1000°C yielding large quantities of well-crystallized α-rhombohedral, red boron and other modifications of boron. This is achieved by zone melting of the employed BI3. The formation of red boron is discussed.
    Notes: Durch Pyrolyse von reinstem BJ3 bei etwa 1000°C an Tantaldrähten läßt sich grobkristallines α-rhomboedrisches Bor in größeren Mengen neben anderen Bor-Modifikationen darstellen. Das wird unter anderem durch Zonenschmelzen des eingesetzten Borjodids erreicht. Die Bildungsweise des roten Bors wird diskutiert.
