In mixtures of phosphorus triisothiocyanate with phosphorus trichloride or phosphorus tribromide the ligands exchange quickly even at room temperature. The resulting equilibria were studied quantitatively and characterized by equilibrium constants. The situation is very similar to that expected for random reorganization. In a phosphorus triisocyanate/phosphorus trichloride system, ligand exchange proceeds much more slowly.

In Mischungen von Phosphor-triisothiocyanat und Phosphortrichlorid bzw. Phosphortribromid werden die Liganden schon bei Zimmertemperatur rasch ausgetauscht. Die sich einstellenden Gleichgewichte wurden quantitativ untersucht und durch Gleichgewichtskonstanten charakterisiert. Die Verhältnisse gleichen weitgehend den für eine statistisch zufällige Ligandenverteilung zu erwartenden. Phosphor-triisocyanat und Phosphortrichlorid tauschen ihre Liganden weniger leicht aus.
