Silver gold(I) chalcogenides having well-defined powder patterns and the composition Ag3AuX2 (X = S, Se, Te) are formed by interaction between Ag2X precipitates and thiogold(I) complexes, e. g. dithiosulfatoaurat(I) iones. Only Ag3AuS2 reacts with excess thiogold(I) complex yielding, succesively, crystalline AgAuS and amorphous Au2S.

Silber-Gold(I)-chalkogenide mit bestimmter Kristallstruktur und chemischer Zusammensetzung Ag3AuX2 (X = S, Se oder Te) entstehen bei der Reaktion von Ag2X-Niederschlägen mit Dithiosulfatoaurat(I)-Ionen.Nur das Doppelsulfid Ag3AuS2 reagiert weiter mit einem Überschuß von Dithiosulfatoaurat(I)-Ionen unter nacheinanderfolgender Bildung von kristallinem AgAuS und amorphem Au2S. Die Reaktionen erfolgen auch mit anderen Thiogold(I)-Komplexen.
