    Description / Table of Contents: Ca2IrO4 crystallizes hexagonal with lattice parameters of a = 9.423, c = 3.195 Å, c/a = 0,339. The space group is D3h3 - P6 2m, Z = 3. Refinement by least squares yielded R = 0.084 (98 reflections hkl). The structure is built up by IrO6 octahedra sharing edges, thus forming chains in the direction of the axis. There exist relationships to the structures of monoclinic Na2CuF4 and orthorhombic Sr2PbO4.
    Notes: Ca2IrO4 kristallisiert hexagonal mit a = 9,423 Å, c = 3,195 Å, c/a = 0,399, Z = 3 in der Raumgruppe D3h3 - P6 2m. Die Verfeinerung nach der Methode der kleinsten Quadrate ergab R = 0,084 (98 reflexe hkl). Die Struktur ist aus IrO6-Oktaedern aufgebaut, die über Kanten verknüpft in Richtung der c-Achse Ketten bilden. Es wird auf die Verwandtschaft zu den Strukturen von Na2CuF4 (monoklin) und Sr2PbO4 (rhombisch) hingewiesen.
