The reaction of PbR4 (R = alkyl or phenyl) and SO2 proceeds in the presence of water (actually as a reaction of sulfurous acid) to give organolead sulfites of the type R2PbSO3, while under anhydrous conditions an insertion reaction causes the formation of organolead sulfinates of the type R2Pb(SO2R)2; the latter seem to be coordination compounds with a lead central atom of coordination number 6.
Notes:
Während bei der Reaktion von PbR4 (R = Alkyl oder Phenyl) mit SO2 in Gegenwart von Wasser (nach intermediärer Bildung von schwefliger Säure) Organobleisulfite des Typs R2PbSO3 entstehen, verläuft die Umsetzung in Abwesenheit von Wasser als Einschiebungsreaktion und ergibt Organobleisulfinate des Typs R2Pb(SO2R)2, die als Koordinationspolymere mit Blei als Zentralatom der Koordinationszahl 6 aufzufassen sind.
