In a oxygen glow discharge iodine pentoxide is transported at temperatures of about 200°C towards the colder parts of the reaction chamber. This transport is supposed to be brought about by higher iodine oxides, most likely by J2O7. The transported J2O5 is probably contaminated by the latter substance.

In einer Glimmentladung in Sauerstoff wird Jodpentoxid bei Temperaturen um 200°C zu Kälteren Stellen des Reaktionsraums transportiert. Dieser Transport wird wahrscheinlich durch höhere Jodoxide, am ehesten durch J2O7, vermittelt. Mit diesem Stoff ist das transportierte J2O5 wahrscheinlich verunreinigt.
