The hitherto unknown KCuO (practically colourless) is prepared by heating K2O/Cu2O mixtures in a closed Ag ampoule. KCuO is tetragonal [a = 9.32, c = 5.46 Å; c/a = 0.586; Z = 8; drö = 3.32, dpyk = 3.27 g · cm-3] and isotypic with KAgO. There are isolated [Cu4O4] groups. The molar volumes of the compounds being isotypic with KAgO are discussed.

KCuO, bislang unbekannt, wird aus K2O/Cu2O-Mischungen durch Erhitzen im geschlossenen Ag-Bömbchen als praktisch farblose Verbindung erhalten, die tetragonal [a = 9,32; c = 5,46 Å; c/a = 0,586; Z = 8; drö = 3,32; dpyk = 3,27 g · cm-3] kristallisiert und mit KAgO isotyp ist. Es liegen also isolierte [Cu4O4]-Gruppen vor. Die Molvolumina der mit KAgO isotypen Verbindungen werden diskutiert.
