Disec · phosphines, RHP—CH2 · CH2—PHR (R = C6H5,C2H5) represent strong chelate ligands towards nickel and cobalt halides. According to magnetic, spectroscopic and conductivity measurements,[Ni(RHP—(CH2)2—PHR)2X]X and [Co(RHP—(CH2)2—PHR)2X2] (X = Cl, Br, J) with five-coordinate nickel in a tetragonal pyramidal configuration. The preparation and structure of [Ni(RHP—(CH2)2—PHR)2Br]2[NiBr4] and [Co2J2(C6H5HP—(CH2)2—PHC6H5)4]J2 are also described.

Äthylen-bis-phenyl- sowie -äthylphosphin reagieren als Chelatliganden mit wasserfreien Nickel(II)-Salzen unter Bildung der Komplexe [Ni(RHP—(CH2)2—PHR)2X]X (R = C6H5, C2H5; X = Cl, Br. J) sowie [Ni(RHP—(CH2)2-PHR)2Br]2[NiBr4] (R = C6H5, C2H5) mit fünffach koordiniertem Nickel. Aus Kobalt(II)-Salzen resultieren die oktaedrisch konfigurierten low-spin-Komplexe [Co(RHP—(CH2)2—PHR)2X2] (R = C6H5, C2H5; X = Cl, Br, J). Kobalt(II)-jodid und C6H5HP—(CH2)—PHC6H5 liefern außerdem den diamagnetischen Zweikernkomplex [Co2J2(C6H5HP)-(CH2)2-(PHC6H5)4]J2. An Hand magnetischerspektralphotometrischer und Leitfähigkeitsmessungen werden die dargestellten Komplexe hinsichtlich ihres strukturellen Aufbaus näher charakterisiert.
