Description / Table of Contents: Lead(II) acetate trihydrate frequently exhibits deviations from the stoichiometric composition. Methods are described which make it possible to produce stoichiometrically composed lead(II) acetate trihydrate and maintain it in this state. The melting point of this lead(II) acetate lies between 57.5 and 58.5°C which is in contradiction to values given in the literature. An explanation is given for this divergence.
