Description / Table of Contents: On the Coordination Chemistry and Photochemical Properties of Transition Metal(IV)-tris-dichalcogenocarbamatesCationic NiIV-tris-dithiocarbamates exhibit reversible photobleaching in solution. In order to find out structural characteristics which are responsible for the photochromic behaviour samples of differently N-substituted carbamates, including those with different anions, were investigated photokinetically and by ESR. Rate constants and quantum yields for the bleaching reactions were determined.Whereas the in-solution bleaching of the corresponding NiIV-tris-thioselenocarbamates is also reversible, the NiIV-diselenocarbamates and the tris-dithiocarbamates of FeIV and MnIV are irreversibly photodecomposed.
