Description / Table of Contents:
On the Chemistry of Gallium. 10. N-Trimethylsilyl Substituted AminogallanesThe synthesis of the monomeric mono(amino)gallanes 9, 10 is achieved by reaction of dialkylgallium chlorides R2GaCl (R = Me, Et) with lithium amides LiN(SiMe3)R′ [R′ = tBu, 2,6-iPr2C6H3 (= dipp)]. Combination of gallium(III)chloride with LiN(SiMe3)dipp results in the formation of the bis(amino)gallium chloride dipp(SiMe3)NGa(Cl)Ndipp(SiMe2)N(SiMe3)dipp 12. Oxidation of 9 affords the aminoethoxygallane [dippN(SiMe3)Ga(Et)μ-OEt]2 13, the structure of which is compared to that of the dialkylalkoxygallane 14.
