Description / Table of Contents: A generally postulated for polymer solids the linear theory of viscoelasticity applies adequately to the mechanical behaviour of individual filaments the initial region of the strees-strain relationship. This, however, does not hold true with multifilament yarns, due to the bundle effect. The dirferent moduli defined for polymer solids, as dynamic modulus, static modulus, tangent modulus and amplitude modulus, can be arranged into an appropriate scheme.
