Notes:
The effects of toluene on the kinetics of polymerization of acrylonitrile (AN) initiated by the Ce(IV)/sucrose redox system were studied in the presence of an emulsifier, N-cetyl-trimethylammonium bromide (NCTAB) in the temperature range 35-45°C. The effects of concentration of metal ion, monomer, sulfuric acid, substrate (sucrose), emulsifier, toluene, some inorganic salt, and organic solvent on Rp have also been investigated. The remarkable features of the investigation involve the derivation of the rate expression for the above system with the calculation of activation energy. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
