Conclusions 1. The values of the rate constants were obtained for the oxidation of a number of substituted 4-hydroxyphenoxyl radicals by divalent copper compounds in acetic acid solution. 2. The insertion of chlorine atoms in the 3 position of the 2,6-diphenyl-4-hydroxyphenoxyl radical leads to a decrease in the value of the rate constant for the oxidation of the radicals by Cu(II) ions.
