Conclusions 1. 3-Amino-2-acetyl-2-cyclopenten-1-ones were obtained in 55–85% yield when the l(3)-O-methyl ether of 2-acetyl-1,3-cyclopentanedione was reacted with ammonia, and with primary and secondary amines. 2. According to the data of the absorption spectra and the PMR spectra the compounds that are formed from ammonia and primary amines exist predominantly in the enaminodiketone form, with a strong intramolecular hydrogen bond. 3. The synthesized enaminodiketones exhibit a low reactivity.
