Summary 1. The solid phases found in the investigation of the system Zn(OH)2-H2O2-H2O are stable only when in equilibrium with the corresponding liquid phases. Only ZnO2 · 0.5 H2O was isolated as a chemical individual. 2. The final product of the dehydration of the various solid phases of the system is ZnO2 · 0.5H2O. 3. Further prolonged drying of ZnO2 · 0.5 H2O at 110° does not give anhydrous zinc peroxide, ZnO2, but is accompanied by decomposition of the peroxide. 4. Thermal analysis showed that ZnO2 · 0.5 H2O decomposes with elimination of H2O and active oxygen at 180–190°
