Notes: Abstract We report on the determination of the nuclear quadrupole interaction of181Ta at Hf-sites in single crystals of HfTe5 between 10K and 900K. Apart from the well-known low temperature anomaly at 75K — which can be easily suppressed by neutron irradiation induced dislocations — we discovered three new phase transitions.
