Abstract The measurements of electrical conductivity (σ) and Seebeck coefficient (S) of trivalent transition metal tungstates M2(WO4)3 with M = Cr, Fe and Ni have been reported in the temperature range of 450 to 1250 K. The results have been explained on the basis of a schematic energy band diagram appropriate for these solids. The estimated value of the energy band gap is slightly more than 3 eV.
