    Notes: Abstract Biological amino acids and alpha keto acids directly condense with decarboxylation and transamination to yield product amino acids. This process is closely related to unusual amino acid decarboxylase enzymes in certain microorganisms and may represent a primordial mode of amino acid metabolism.
