Notes:
Summary “Lumberjack fractures” normally occur in the thoracic and upper lumbar spine as a result of hyperextension and shear. This case, however, involves a lumberjack who suffered a lumbosacral fracture dislocation without neurological deficits, which occurred as the result of shear and hyperflexion. Due to the high degree of instability of this lesion, the treatment consisted of dorsoventral fusion with instrumentation.
