Zusammenfassung Es wird nach einer eingehenden Darstellung des Schrifttums eine eigene Fallbeobachtung mitgeteilt. Bei einer 34 jährigen Patientin kam es im Bereich der Wange zur typischen Noma, die unter Penicillin-Infusionen abheilte, jedoch als Spätkomplikation die oft beschriebene Lungen- und Pleurabeteiligung aufwies. Die Behandlungsmaßnahmen werden ausführlich erörtert.

Summary After a thorough presentation of the available literature concerning Noma, a case history of a 34 year old woman who had a typical Noma in the cheek is reported. This was successfully treated with penicillin infusion but it presented the usual late complications of the lungs. The methods of treatment has been extensively discussed.
