Notes:
Summary In histologically different human endometrial carcinoma alcaline phosphatase shows no significant differences. There are as well no significant differences in activity of alcaline phosphatase in carcinomas of different pattern of growth. The results however conform the opinion of histochemists that phosphatase activity is higher in endophytic growing endometrial carcinoma than in the exophytic variety. Solid carcinomas have less activity of alcaline phosphatase than tubular carcinomas. The distribution of phosphatase in the carcinoma cell corresponds to its distribution in other tissues. So-called leucineaminopeptidase is significantly higher in infiltrating carcinomas than in the noninfiltrating variety and obviously corresponds to the destructive property of a tumor. The low leucineaminopeptidase-activity in necrotic carcinoma gives reason to believe that so-called leucineaminopeptidase always points to the metabolic activity of the examined tissue.
