Summary The development of cilia is described in the inner and outer layers of the optic cup of a 6 weeks human embryo (8 mm C-R length). It starts with the formation of a vesicle above the apical centriole. By flattening of this vesicle a cap-like space appears which covers the centriole. By approximating of the apical portion of this space to the cellular membrane a conical cord of cytoplasma arises that finally reaches beyond the apical cellular surface as a cilium.

Zusammenfassung Im äußeren und im inneren Augenbecherblatt eines menschlichen Embryo vom Anfang der 6. Woche (8 mm Scheitelsteißlänge) wird die Genese der Cilien beschrieben. Ihre Entwicklung beginnt mit dem Erscheinen eines Bläschens über dem der Zellmembran am nächsten liegenden Basalkörperchen. Durch Abflachung des Bläschens entsteht ein kappenartiges Gebilde, welches das Basalkörperchen bedeckt. Indem sich der zentrale Anteil der Kappe der Zellmembran nähert, wird ein intracellulärer Cytoplasmastrang geformt, der schließlich als Cilium aus der Zelle herauswächst.
