Summary The trachea of golden hamsters was implanted into the spleen of animals of the same age. After treatment with diethylnitrosamine for 12–20 weeks, small papillomata developed in the trachea (in situ) of almost all animals and in 6 animals in the trachea which had been implanted into the spleen. From the results of the experiments the question of the organotropic effect of the nitrosamine is discussed. The organotropic activity for the trachea probably is not caused by a higher excretion of nitrosamines in the respiratory tract.

Zusammenfassung Goldhamstern wurde die Trachea eines gleichaltrigen Tieres in die Milz implantiert. Nach 12–20wöchiger Behandlung mit Diäthylnitrosamin entstanden bei fast allen tieren in der Trachea (in situ) und bei sechs Tieren in der in die Milz implantierten Trachea kleine Papillome. Anhand der Versuchsergebnisse wird die Frage der organotropen Wirkung der Nitrosamine diskutiert und darauf hingewiesen, daß die Organotropie im Bereich der Trachea wahrscheinlich nicht durch stärkere Ausscheidung der Nitrosamine im Respirationstrakt hervorgerufen wird.
