Notes: Summary Parenteral injections of a chemical carcinogen, N-nitroso-N methylurethane, produces in the lung of mice foci of atypical proliferation associated with intense alveolar collapse. The morphology of these lesions is presented, then their metabolic features as determined by histochemical methods. The activity of hydrolases especially of alkaline phosphatases, appears to be important, particularly in the capillary circulation.
