Abstract Hemorrhage into the biliary tract is an uncommon but potentially serious complication of traumatic liver injury. Blood loss may be minimal or massive, and the timing of onset of symptoms relative to the injury is quite variable. Radiologic evaluation, including computed tomography, ultrasound, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, and angiography, can be used to make the diagnosis. We report a case of posttraumatic hemorrhage into the biliary tree after a liver laceration.
