Summary An improvement is described in the familiar spot test for cardiac glycosides with 84% sulfuric acid. Distinct color changes were obtained by adding slight amounts of a 5% chloroform solution of furfurol. A tabular compilation of examples is included.

Résumé Description d'une amélioration de l'essai à la touche connu des glucosides cardiotoniques à l'aide d'acide sulfurique à 84%. L'addition de petites quantités d'une solution chloroformique de furfurol à 5% permet d'obtenir des variations considérables de couleur. Des exemples sont réunis par l'auteur sous forme de tableau.

Zusammenfassung Es wird eine Verbesserung der bekannten Tüpfelprobe für Herz-glykoside mit 84% iger Schwefelsäure beschrieben. Durch Zugabe kleiner Mengen einer 5 % igen chloroformigen Furfurollösung wurden beträchtliche Farbveränderungen erreicht. Beispiele sind tabellarisch zusammengefaßt.
