Notes: An experimental study of the classical Hall effect was carried out on amorphous As2S3 semiconducting glass. The experiments were performed on thin samples of As2S3 which were prepared in an oxygen-free atmosphere. The Hall coefficient, conductivity, and Hall mobility were determined in the temperature range of 300–393 K. The Hall coefficient was found to decrease exponentially with temperature. The range of values for Hall coefficient was 1.8×1012–0.81×108 cm3 C−1. The Hall mobility decreases slightly with temperature and the values obtained were within the range 0.090–0.032 cm2 V−1 s−1. The conductivity of As2S3 at room temperature was of the order of 10−13 Ω−1 cm−1 and this increases exponentially with temperature.
